terrorism

Terrorism

Terrorism is international and very threatening groups of mostly Muslim people. Terrorism is not only in the U.S or in some countries; it is all over the world that there is a problem in terrorism. Terrorism is is the systematic use of terror especially as a means of coercion. There is no internationally agreed definition of terrorism. Most common definitions of terrorism include only those acts which are intended to create fear (terror), are perpetrated for an ideological goal (as opposed to a lone attack), and deliberately target or disregard the safety of non-combatants.

In the U.S, there was one most famous terrorist attacks, which was the 9/11 attack. The terrorist crashed 3 planes with many passengers inside. 2 planes crashed the twin towers, one on each tower, while the other plane crashed on the Pentagon. The Americans was shocked on what happened to them. We all know that The United States of America is a very strong country, but after what happened to them, many countries got scared because, any country can be attacked by a terrorist even though your country is very strong. But when the U.S was attacked, the Americans reacted the same way, by using violence. It was their solution on how to solve their problem on terrorism. They sent many troops on Iraq and they try to find the terrorist leader.

In the Philippines, there is also a problem on terrorism; it is the famous group of Abu Sayaf and the MILF against the government of the Philippines. This problem in the Philippines has been going around more than 400 years ago, after the Spain left our country. Because of the different religion, there had been a conflict between the government and the Abu Sayaf and the MILF. What these 2 groups want is to have Mindanao on their own and become an independent country. Of course the government did not agree on what they wanted, so the Abu Sayaf and the MILF rebel and started to make violence by using deadly weapons and kidnapping. The government did not know what to do, but they still protect the country by sending military troops to protect the innocent people in Mindanao. But still the problem is still not solved.

I guess any country that had been attacked by a terrorist had been replying by using violence. This problem on terrorism will not be solved if the government on the country that had been attacked by a terrorist will just use violence as well. Many people will just die and this problem will keep on going on. They should start having peace talks and not war. It might be hard to communicate with a terrorist but it will take time. It is still better than having your own people dying in the battle. A lot of family will be affected because of it. Peace talk is the only solution to this problem and not war.

Violence was always used to react against terrorist, so I think that trying another solution like peace talks, not demands, can be used to negotiate with terrorist.

I agree with Igi we should negotiate with the terrorist instead of planning a war with them.

Peace talk is not always the solution. Because others just won't listen to what others say and continue what they are doing. But it's also a way to solve our problem against terrorism.

In our time right now, we cannot always negotiate or do peace talks with the terrorist. "An Eye for an Eye, a Tooth for a Tooth"

Peace talks really would do trick. I know some of you might say. "Oh, but we already are doing that kind of thing!". Not that kind of thing. You call that peace talks? The government would cease fire, talk with the terror guys, and what do they say?? "Set down your weapons, surrender your leaders to us, and you as well.".

By law, that is the method of negotiations. To put whoever is responsible for treason and violence under proper sentence.

How can u get extremists to do just exactly what the government says they should do? For one, they already despise the government for that. Of course they wont. That is not "real" peace talk methods.

What Mr.Allen is proposing is a "real" sit-down talk with sympathy and understanding, and then propose an agreeable solution afterwards. Then, through more soft words and less demands, we might just have a chance of making these people change their ways.

I like your solution "Peace talk". Yes , i agree because violence can not stop violence. Whoever first stop the revenge or violence will win over the world.

I agree with your "Peace Talk" solution, but apparently, the "Peace Talk" may just become a set-up to be able to ambush the opposing group. Say the leaders of both groups, the Terrorists and Anti-terrorists, meet and negotiate, one of the two leaders may have some people working undercover to ambush the meeting and take the opposing group's leader as captive. Or maybe, the "Peace Talk" may just lead to a disagreement, and make the war continue.

"What Mr.Allen is proposing is a "real" sit-down talk with sympathy and understanding, and then propose an agreeable solution afterwards. Then, through more soft words and less demands, we might just have a chance of making these people change their ways."

Yes, that's what he is trying to say. But, unfortunately, I disagree with you, Pol. "Sympathy and understanding" are what those people need, but war has already been instilled in their minds. It would be damn hard to make those people change their ways, and if you try to talk them into change, they might end up disagreeing with you, or even end up killing you.

I don't agree on what you said that, "any country that had been attacked by a terrorist had been replying by using violence."
I don't think that the anti-terrorist group is using violence to eliminate terrorism.

I do not agree that "peacetalks" is the ONLY way to solve problems on terrorism because sad to say it has been done by the government yet the problems still occurs...
Discuss other alternative solutions,do not stick with one solution...

great job but i think peace talk is not that only solution. i agree what shekainah have said, "sad to say it has been done by the government yet the problems still occurs."

I disagree on a calm way like peace talks and negotiations. Violence was their approach, and it must be the way on how we react.

hey allen! i like the part where you gave the 9/11 attack as an example of terrorism. You could expound more on your content.

Allen,

Use conjunctions with larger chunks of sentences NOT as beginning words in new sentences. Review your pronouns some are inconsistent with your antecedents and still others suddenly shift from first person to second person pronouns.
