Most common definitions of terrorism include only those acts which are intended to create fear (terror) and deliberately target or disregard the safety of non-combatants (civilians). The word "terrorism" was first used in reference to the Reign of Terror during the French Revolution.
Terrorism has been a major of chaos globally for decades already. There are a lot of causes of terrorism like; the MAFIA, suicide bombing, “world domination”, racism, etc. But I want to focus on discrimination. Have you ever considered that maybe; several causes of terrorism are due to discrimination? We may say that most Muslims in the world are being discriminated due to terrorist attacks such as the 9/11. But are we sure that they are the ones behind such attacks? Many Muslim children and elders are being abused in the US because most Americans end up having the conclusion that all Muslims are enemies. The Muslim children are being harassed at school and some of the elderly are being run down by a car at the parking lot even though these people are innocent. If these stupid conclusion-makers just look themselves in the mirror, they are the ones who are being terrorists. Then the effects of these events end up making the Muslims actually real rebels. If these events keep on going, will be there an end to terrorism? Another example of this terrorism in discrimination is Adolph Hitler. Adolph Hitler gained the trust of the German people and made them feel safe. He was also able to manipulate their thoughts, and to brainwash them into thinking that they were of a superior race. He persuaded the Germans to join him in blaming the Jews for all of their countries problems. The result of this was devastating. Millions of innocent Jewish lives were lost. Outside of the blatant massacre of the Jewish population was the mistreatment they endured prior to their death. Now, do you still think that discrimination is just a simple racial problem?
There have been a lot of movements, laws and policies that was done in order to diminish discrimination. One anti-discriminatory movement or policy is the Civil Rights. Laws guaranteeing civil rights may be written down, or derived from custom, or implied. In the United States and most continental European countries, civil rights laws are most often written. Examples of civil rights and liberties include the right to get redress if injured by another, the right to privacy, the right of peaceful protest, the right to a fair investigation and trial if suspected of a crime, and more generally-based constitutional rights such as the right to vote, the right to personal freedom, the right to freedom of movement and the right of equal protection. As civilizations emerged and formalized through written constitutions, some of the more important civil rights were granted to citizens. When those grants were later found inadequate, civil rights movements emerged as the vehicle for claiming more equal protection for all citizens and advocating new laws to restrict the effects of discrimination.
Then there are also a lot of anti-discriminatory acts and laws which were made. Anti-discrimination law refers to the law on people's right to be treated equally. Most developed countries mandate that in employment, in consumer transactions and in political participation people may be dealt with on an equal basis regardless of sex, race, ethnicity, nationality, sexuality and sometimes religion and political views.
I just can’t understand why there are so many actions that have been made but it seems that discrimination is so inevitable. But my opinion is; it is because these acts and laws just end up still discriminating the others. Sometimes these laws and movements just continue on discriminating other people. Then when some people get cracked up and find that there is just no end to it, they end up by having the idea of just wiping off their enemies thinking that they can be superior in this way. That’s how most terrorism ends up. My suggestion is, let’s just put an effort to ourselves. Before we look at the other people, let us just look ourselves in the mirror. Think of what you see. You see a single human being that is no different from any other human being in the world. Then why hate them? Can’t you just love them like how much you love yourself? Sure, maybe they’ve done a lot of sins and bad things and their life, but can’t you forgive? Is death the real solution? I don’t think that feeling superior to others really doesn’t make you anything near being a god.

The proposition of the solution was good...
but i think you need to expound introduction or the discussion of the problem portion of your text...
maybe you can add on the nature of the problem,it's existence and extent..
i just noticed that your sentences lack words. small errors perhaps. such as "If these stupid conclusion-makers just look themselves in the mirror, they are the ones who are being terrorists."
i guess it would have been better if you wrote it like this "If these stupid conclusion-makers just look at themselves in the mirror, they might even consider themselves terrorists.
just check your essay again for small errors. but the content was good. nice work. :)
Your proposed solution was good. and you can still expand the cause of terrorism. You can also have in your solution text the idea of Karl Marx in his solutions for conflicts the acceptance of ideology/belief of ither races or other grroups. Different races have different culture or beliefs.
The introduction, sadly, is too short to give credit to your magnificent text body.
However, I applaud your optimistic view that people would one day understand each other once they did some 'soul searching'. I honestly pray thet this is true.
Good topic. Discrimination does happen a lot nowadays, especially with our middle eastern people who live in other places in the world.
nice title "Discrimination in the war on terrorism", the proposal, the points, the views and the thoughts are there...however, nagfocus ka masyado sa discrimintion which is only one of those many reasons why there would be an existence of terrorism.and then wala din akong nakitang thoughts about the terrorism locally(Philippines).More on international ka but we must follow a structure which is the "inverted pyramid".yun pero overall, full of sense...
what are the effects of the laws or solutions made?
another good solution maybe place yourself in the shoes of the ones who are being discriminated, and ask yourself if you can live everyday with all your classmates/ people around you hating you.
overall, your topic about discrimination is good.
When I was reading your solution, I didn't expect what I just read. I thought you'll propose that we'll do the action too, but eventually, you said to love the enemy. Well, loving enemy is a bad idea. If you love them, they'll start asking you to join their team, making some increase to terrorism. And if you declined their request, they'll start making you join by giving you a threat.
David,
This is a new perspective on the causes of terrorism. It is evidence of the depth of your knowledge on the topic. Great!
You may want to divide your problem paragraph...in that portion where you describe the causes. For the concluding part, in the statement...My opinion is...this could well be another paragraph.
You might want to extend your concluding paragraph by sharing a vision you may have of a world where people are accepting of others regardless of their color / race...this could be a meaningful ending.
your expressions are great. keep up the good work!
