TERRORISM:SUICIDE BOMBING

When we think of terrorist acts, we often concoct images of plane crashing into buildings with bombs causing large explosions. Suicide bombing occur because bombers consider what they are doing as a holy duty, a justified reaction to oppression and an inexcusable abomination. Suicide bombing is a worldwide problem. There were many instances in the past regarding bombings and eventually it would continue to occur at present if we do not find a solution to it. Different countries are victims of suicide bombings and the causes of the existence of this problem come in different forms. Religion has long been a motivator of aggression and terrorist attacks. Poverty, occupation and lack of democracy are also factors that trigger to bombings. The belief of terrorist or suicide bombers that what they are doing is a calling or a holy duty is the root cause of this violence. The effect of suicide bombings greatly affects the society, local, national and international government. It has been alarming different groups and individuals worldwide. Suicide bombings have occurred throughout history but today the world is experiencing a global rebirth of attack. Today, it no longer affects small societies, such as third world countries who fell victim of the regular attacks. The whole world is becoming more familiar with Arab and Muslim names. The problem on bombings does not only create panic but it also weakens confidence in the government and the political leadership. This violence that is on rise today has informed citizens all over the world about the different types of terrorism. It had created psychological effects that reach farther beyond the impact on the immediate victims of the attack. It mean to frighten and therefore scare a wider crowd, such as rival ethnic or religious group, country and political control. This bloody and destructive act causes people to fear for their lives and lives of their loved ones, so much that some were later willing to trade their liberties to secure their safety. It is also a hindrance to progress because of the wide range of destruction on buildings and establishments that cost millions.

Many alternative solutions were undertaken. On the international level, Soldiers and men have been trained to assure the security of the public. They use their skills and weapons to prevent terrorist attacks and protect the civilians. Counterterrorism is also done to fight against terrorist acts. But although skillful and trained men were assigned to monitor, still terrorist were able to perform their plans. Suicide bombers would just appear and explosions happen in just a split of seconds. Unfortunately, nobody can stop them. On the national level, Negotiations have been done with the terrorist groups. Paying ransom, arranging prisoner releases or agreeing to other demands of the terrorist. These solutions can solve the dilemma for a certain period of time. Example: giving ransom money or demands of the group would cease their crimes for days or months but then, on the other hand, there is no assurance on what is going to be the next plan of the group. They would keep on blackmailing or frightening the government to get their future demands. It is still a big question mark on how to completely keep the terrorist away. On the local level, the government has done peace talks; they have tried to ask the terms of these groups. Since, MILF and Abu Sayaffs are staying in urban areas; they could possibly try settling the wants or demands of the terrorist to stop their acts. Peace talks have not been very effective in getting the peace that we long. There are some things that cannot be agreed and so suicide bombers would tend to continue their attack because they were not satisfied with what they are given. New demands would always rise from them thus, Peace talks is of no use.

Since counterterrorism and other forms of attacks has not been successful in eliminating terrorism. An international solution that could be taken is to study first the root cause of this violence. To fight terrorism and all its forms, it is important to understand who or what is our enemy. We can only fight against this horror if we understand its causes and motivations. To prevent more violence, we should find ways to work towards lasting peace. For the national level, our government should be always alert and serious in dealing with suicide bombers. Security must be doubled or even tripled in places that are prone to bombings like public places such as airports and malls. They should strictly implement policies for safety purposes because bombings often occur in an unexpected place and time. Strictly guarding checkpoints could be made by the local government to monitor the movements and plans of the terrorist. Responsible and well-oriented people should be assigned to do this job.

Your proposed solution is already on the work these days. Yes, tight security is still undergoing in a lot of places and checkpoints to prevent suicide bombing. But the fact is this: they just keep on going! They still tend to infiltrate our defenses and suddenly, a bomb will just explode in a street!

I think it is better if you just suggest that we must give orientation such as "life is important". I dunno. But you might want to work on your proposed solution.

I for one, would stand for your idea.
Studying your enemy is actually the best way of doing preliminary actions against the problem.

However, the use of armed forces against these terrorists isn't exactly the main idea of the solution, its just to pacify and reduce the amount of casualties done by these terrorists, while the people are still studying the problem.

Its not two different ideas, but one system bent on destroying the threat. It just that the "weapons" part is just buying the "brain" part some time.

it"'s" just that..

-another typo. sorry.

It's true that to be able to stop terrorism is to know to cause of it, but these days we already know some of the cause of it like what you said, religion. even though we know some root causes, terrorism is still expanding.

and doubling or tripling the security is not that easy because of some corrupt politicians that we have.

The content is all well and good, but for the love of God use paragraphs! Many readers turn away when they see a huge wall of text in their screens! But yeah, I agree, releasing hostages to meet demands will solve nothing.

"The problem on bombings does not only create panic but it also weakens confidence in the government and the political leadership."

-it may also lead to poverty of ones society. cause bombing doesn't only destroy lives but it also destroys the resources, right? Just think of that and have an expansion bout that. :-)

but the cause and effects of the problem are very well said.

It's true, the way you talked about this topic is good and you really discussed almost everything about it. You should really use paragraphs because it's hard to read and it makes readers stop reading your work.

divide the paragraphs. it's hard to read.

Suicide bombing is a real serious problem. And to your solution to the problem, they are doing it already, of checking every bags and everything. This could work, but sometimes, other guards don't check bags anymore once that the place is not popular anymore.

You should have used paragraphs because it's confusing the readers.

But all in all you have a point. Studying the enemy first is a great idea.

Divide them into paragraphs.

Problem description is well-thought of and written; the discussion on solutions undertaken were clear and precise; however, I agree with David when he said that your proposed solutions are currently being done. Perhaps you can think of more creative ways of approaching the problem.

The content is good. It is researched industriously but seems to be copy pasted because the content is too long haha. . . .. .
