Energy Crisis

Kara Cathrina P. Kajiro

Energy Crisis

Energy crisis is one of the major concerns here in our country, wherein there is a shortage or lacking of gasoline or fuel or any kind of source of energy at the same time increases the energy price of the gasoline. Here are some of the factors why energy crisis is a huge problem nowadays:

· Too much consumption of energy.

· Environmental problems

· Government problems

People today don’t mind about how much energy they consume everyday. You are wasting energy starting at your own home. What more if you’re outside your own home. There are gasoline, electricity, technology, etc. Those things are one of the reasons why we consume too much energy that is needed for the near future. I also noticed that the society is not that practical nowadays. One good example is cars. Why not just use a bicycle instead, or just walk where you want to go. It can also help you be physically fit. I blame technology about how people think and work because they make our society relay on these technologies which consumes too much energy. Yes, technology make our lives easier but it’s too much for us that we become lazy and just relay on it all along. Right?

Environment is also one of the reasons why energy crisis is a huge concern. As we consume energy we also destroy our environment. An example of this is gasoline. We don’t just dug up something at the middle of the ocean and produce fuel, we also harm the marine life under that ocean and the beautiful things under it. Our land resources are also destroyed because of energy. Everything can be destroyed as long as they can create energy and even environment may be at risk.

Government is also one of the reasons why energy crisis is a huge concern. Every country in the world needs energy to survive. Even the most corrupt country needs energy. Wars are a good example of a government problem that may concern the energy crisis we are experiencing now. As wars go longer, it may consume much more energy and that results to an increase. It’s a domino effect.

The effects of these problems will really affect us socially, politically and economically.

The energy crisis can affect us socially by means of financial crisis. One good example is the gas increase. When the gas increases everything will increase just like a domino effect. It will not only affect the gas but also the food and everything that we pay for can increase. Society will suffer the consequences that will happen and surely they will blame it all to the government. Many people will complain about the high increases so they will demand for a rollback.

The energy crisis can affect us politically by means of more political riots to come. If the government is experiencing this energy crisis, they will surely think of a way to solve it in any manner as possible, because they are pressured of the fact that more people will complain for this crisis. Some government official can take advantage of this crisis and do corruption by asking for budget for the benefit of the crisis or to offer help and assistance for a price, which is very unethical and immoral for a person who is part of the government. They should help the people instead of giving them more problems. How can a country innovate with such a government like that?

The energy crisis can affect us economically by means of increase in value not only for the sources of energy but also the things that are used by energy like the transportation of items from one place to another. That can lead to increase of the items that are transported because of the energy that is consumed during the transportation process. Items will increase and even labor may increase, as workers will demand a much higher salary because society will experience a financial crisis.

The effects that can happen to us because of energy crisis:

The society will become financially weak. People will be having a hard time to buy there basic necessities like food, shelter and clothing. Humankind will suffer the consequences. The government will be at panic because of more and more people complain and protest because of the crisis. The government will also suffer because of the people who always protest. The economic status of the country will fall down because of the crisis and maybe war between another Country may occur due to the effect of the crisis. Our environment and natural resources will be gone forever because of using it extravagantly to produce energy.

These effects are one of the cases that happened when an energy crisis triggered us to the highest peak. Almost all are affected by it. These effects are consequences of our disobedience and not aware of what may happen in the future. Life is unpredictable in just one snap. You will never know what may happen to us tomorrow or next month or next year or to our next generation. Society is taking all of this for granted because they think everything is unlimited and finite. Well natural resource like fossil fuels are unlimited if they are consumed well and not extravagantly. Society has also a fault for these disasters. When people abuses nature, you can never know what nature have in stored for us. Not all things are unlimited, everything has its end. Energy crisis is one of the nature’s karma for us. A wakeup call for us, to face reality and take care of one of the most important thing for us to live, energy.

We want changes to happen in our country when this crisis happens. So as part of the society, I have three reasons why we should solve this crisis today.

This energy crisis is needed to be solved for the future of the next generation who will live in our world. We should also think not only our own benefits but also the ones who will benefit our country for the next generations to come. They are important because they will take care our world where living today. The earth should be preserved for the next generations to come.

It is needed to be solved because we want changes to happen in our society. We want to develop our country and have progress. I consider this crisis as a challenge to all of us for improvement and to learn to our mistakes in life, so in every storm that passes there’s always a sunshine.

And lastly this crisis should be solved because energy is one of our needs. Without energy things will not fall into the right place into the right time. Energy play’s an important role in our country, socially, politically, and economically. Because if this wasn’t invented, maybe we’re living in an unprogressive world right know.

ahm..very well said,..i know that you give all your thoughts here in your work...you expound and eplain your ideas deeply(you're so galing!)..however,remember that you are writting an essay,..limit yourself on putting your own opinion too much that your essay somehow become an editorial article...overall, it is more than a good work(for me)..

The content is good. There's a few gramatical errors. tell more about the causes of Enegy crisis. What are the other factors that may result to energy crisis.

your thoughts about energy crisis was well said, you explained it very deeply by giving also your thoughts. But somehow you have to limit on your opinion and put more facts to it.

You put a lot of thought regarding the environment which is commendable, but here in the Philippines, taking bikes is not so easy. Ride a bike in the national road and most likely you'll end up as roadkill thanks to our friendly and law abiding buses and jeeps.

Kara,

Your text is laden with opinions. A problem-solution text is grounded on facts especially the problem part where you establish that it is indeed a problem that requires immediate attention. You may input your opinions when you critique or evaluate the attempts to solve the problem in the middle ground paragraph.
Please review. I expect to see a more substantial version when you revise.

based on your post, I can say you researched very well. But there are some unnecessary sentences that are not needed to write but all in all you did allot of effort on this! Nice!

Your context was very well researched but you should lessen your opinions and there are a few grammatical errors. It's a nice article it just needs a little revising.

The content is good but limit the number of opinions... you put a lot of thought for environment, and that is good.

I'd have to disagree with metatron. Riding bicycles in the Philippines may indeed be dangerous compared to other countries, but it is not as unsafe as it seems. I myself have ridden my bicycle in several highways, but managed to be safe the whole time. Although there are hazards that bike commuters or cyclists face, these are natural. As long as the bike rider knows how to behave on the road, he/she should be fine. It's possible to practice bike riding as a means of transportation in the Philippines. :)

I agree with you that technology is one of the factors to blame for our energy crisis today. Our technology use too much energy.

I agree not only with you but with the comment above me as well. Technology is a very huge contributor to the energy crisis. We have been having great technological advances these past few years but at the expense of the whole world. Perhaps in the future, a spaceship can bring us to a new planet when our own planet explodes into oblivion. I also agree with the government being mostly responsible for what is happening. They are the ones who can make the biggest differences but they are not doing anything. Mostly, they use 'environmental projects' as an excuse to their corruption.
