Energy Crisis

Energy crisis

An energy crisis is any great bottleneck (or price rise) in the supply of energy resources to an economy. It usually refers to the shortage of oil and additionally to electricity or other natural resources. An energy crisis may be referred to as an oil crisis, petroleum crisis, energy shortage, electricity shortage or electricity crisis.

First cause why we are in this crisis is that oil in areas where we get our source of it is being depleted. Moreover, this means that higher demand of oil is equal to high price of it. Second cause is that we consume energy too much and we do not bother to conserve it because most of us do not know where the energy comes from.

Every one of us knows that we consume energy even if we do not notice it. Sometimes in a single thing that we do we consume large amount of energy like leaving the lights on, over charging a cell phone and other things that normal person does when using electricity. Therefore, when we conserve energy, we conserve oils to cause power plants uses oils to produce electricity that we use in our everyday life. Therefore, our incomes or our salary sometimes depends on how we consume energy. For instance, we try to turn on our appliances even if don't use it so this may cause high bill for electricity and if that happens our budget for our food and other bills that we have to pay are affected by it. Oil now has a high price and food and other goods are trying to make their price high too because they themselves uses vehicles to transport the good that they deliver to every market.

In politics, they hold our freedom because they are the ones who implement the laws and rules that we are following. However, we know too that each one of us wants a freedom in things that we want to do. When a person try to achieve his goals with out the use of energy, it is harder to reach it, in contrary, when a person does use energy it is easier to achieve it. Therefore, when politicians try to force us to conserve energy, which is true, it is harder to move or make an action. It is like reading a book in a dark room with out any light or lamp.

Energy crisis has different effects to us. One is unemployment. When oil companies raise their price, goods are affected and when that happens, consumers will tend to buy cheaper goods or does not buy at all. Then, the income of a particular shopping mall will gain less profit for their business and they will struggle in giving salaries for the workers when it happens for a along period o f time. Moreover, for that they will try to fire some employees.

Peak Oil is defined as the point in the oil production cycle at which approximately one-half of the existing oil reserves have been produced. When that happens, we will consume all the oil in the world in the future and not a single drop we can use.

Solving this means a lot of cooperation in the world. We need to solve this because energy is one important part of our everyday living and without it, many changes will happen to our world. Another reason is our invention, gadgets, transportations and a thing that uses energy or oil will be useless unless we can use it with an alternative source of energy. And last reason is life depends on energy, without it hospitals are useless, fire trucks can’t stop fire without moving to the burning house, medicines can’t be made or be tested properly. With out these things our life is harder.

In summation, conserving energy is a big part of our world, saving it can save our lives too.

I agree with this sentence. Conserving energy is a big part of our world, saving it can save our lives too. Because at least now we are waste our energy resources. So i think its better to use those things. Like solar energy or wind energy. If we try from little things we will not have energy crisis.

The statement of the problem was very well said. In the solution text, try to suggest some ways on how people can conserve energy.

Although there are a few grammatical errors and misspellings, it is very nicely written and the ending can bring out a good effect from people

Well said..
Knowing what energy is worth and conserving it is really a big help to this energy crisis that we are facing today.

Richard,

I see more of the causes than solutions to the problem of energy crisis. Your tasked is a problem solution text...I have yet to see how you discussed the solutions undertaken by either our national government or the international community and how these have been effective and ineffective before you even propose your own solution.

This post states that the smallest of thing we take for granted (such as leaving the lights on) are large in negative effects, since this action is repetitively unnoticed and done by many people. This indeed has a huge effect on the energy crisis.

this really proves that all things starts small, if we want to save energy, we must contribute in our own little way, starting in our own home, we must turn off appliances that we are not using and use alternatives...

I like that you went to the small things we can do to prevent the worsening of the energy crisis. At least now we know we can do something and not just wait for the world to change.

It was a good article. You were able to explain the nature of the problen and its causes very well but you have not proposed any solutions.
