energy crisis : the bottomless well

Energy Crisis is defined as “the bottomless well” because it is one of the great problems around the world that none of us know when to end. It is an extreme price rise of supply and energy resources that refers to the shortage of oil, electricity and other resources. According to the Law of Supply and demand, high demand = low supply. That’s what’s happening today, the demand of energy and other resources are increasing, but the supplies are decreasing. That’s why many countries today suffer from energy crisis.

Energy Crisis had been a burden of many countries years ago. In 1973, many of the Arab oil-producing countries suffered from oil crisis because of the Yom Kippur War. In 1979, Iran suffered from energy crisis, because of the Iranian Revolution. And in 2000-2001, California had an electricity crisis, because of failed deregulation and business corruption. In the Philippines also suffered from insufficient energy production. These are some of the countries that suffered and are suffering from energy crisis.

Energy Crisis can emerge in many ways. Examples are small accidents (pipeline failure, minor interruption), infrastructure damage from severe weather, and also terrorist attacks. People really do suffer from energy crisis because supplies of energy are insufficient and cause shortages. And this makes the demand of the people increase. With few supplies, only few people can benefit from it. Today Coal, nuclear and hydro is used primarily to make electricity. And people must keep on looking for alternatives before these resources are vanished.

The Social and Economic aspects are affected by using energy to exploit all other resources. When energy markets fail, an energy shortage develops. Consumers may experience blackouts and insufficient supply and unexpected power outage.

Energy Crisis really affects people. Here are some of it. It could cause Global warming, like climate change and unpredictable weather, emerging shortages, like on supplies, fuel and oil. Political riots are problems of other countries. It has a bad effect on thy social and economic aspects, emerging of many health related problems, and the declining quality level of education.

It is needed to be solved because; diseases might spread in many places, our environment might collapse, and we must stop the decreasing literacy rate of the people, and help them with their education. Actually, we will never end Energy Crisis if we don’t start making a change now. We must all work together in order for us to beat and reach the bottomless well.

I agree with that people really do suffer from energy crisis because supplies of energy are insufficient and cause shortages.
Now energy are reaally shortage for us so other countries where have more resourses or produce their energy are provide us or selling their resourses to us like oil. But U.S.A wants to them give oil easily or take away. they want control to them by power. That's why they make a war or there is terroroist. So I think making terrorist = shortage of energy.

Oh! high demand = low supply Yes, its ture as the writer said the demand of energy and other resources are increasing, but the supplies are decreasing so we should find other energy that can replace like solar energy, wind energy and biofuel. Scientist are still discovering how to use those energy.
I could got a lot of informations about energy crisis Keep Up

Don't conlude that energy crisis is a bottomless well because it might be solved in the future. You can add some more solutions and more facts. But the information was good and the blog was nice.

This was very well written and the I could tell that a lot of work was put in the research. I also agree with jose, let's try to be optimistic about this issue and not call it a bottomless well just yet.

i'm quite sure that given the time, patience, and enough resources, we're sure to solve this bottomless well energy predicament. it'll only be a matter of time before that happens. and hopefully it'd happen sooner than any of us would expect.

I agree with the fact that although we are fully aware that oil can no longer meet the demand for energy, we still rely on it. We often oversee the dangers we face if we don't find an alternative solution soon.

Nice introduction for the problem. And your statement of the causes of the problem wa very well said. Elaborate more on the effects of the problem in the society. Explain why does it result to declining quality level of education, etc.

I guess you should add to your reasons why there is emergence in energy crisis is that there have been so many machines today that require naturalized fossils and petrol. And maybe that is the reason why there is a crisis in energy.

Neo,

The problem portion is well-established however, you are missing the solution part where you discuss some attempts on solving the problem and finally proposing your own solution. I have yet to see these changes in your revised version.

Energy Crisis is defined as “the bottomless well”.. I completely agree with this. You were able able to expalin the nature of the problem very well. You could propose more solutions to this problem and explain more on how it affects our society.

HI NEO! :)

So yes I do agree with most of the content in your article but what I don't understand is the first sentence. I sensed some hopelessness. Yes, this energy crisis might be as major as it looks, but dubbing it as the bottomless well just doesn't seem to nail it, in a way. I agree, we do not know when this will end but we have more than just the means to solve this problem. If we only put ourselves to action, we might be able to know when the problem will stop.
